Position Overview
Friends of Rye Town Park is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to help grow community engagement and support for the organization. This role involves managing social media, newsletters, and fundraising letters to increase awareness, attract donors, and foster community involvement. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in marketing, communications, or fundraising and a passion for community and green spaces.
Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management: Develop and execute content strategies for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), including creating posts, engaging with followers, and growing our online presence.

Email & Newsletter Communications: Write and distribute engaging email newsletters to keep the community informed about events, park updates, and fundraising initiatives.

Fundraising & Outreach Materials: Craft compelling fundraising letters, donor appeals, and promotional materials to support park initiatives and donor engagement.

Community Engagement & Promotion: Work to increase public awareness and participation in FoRTP events, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising efforts.

Website & Content Updates: Assist with website updates, blog posts, and other digital content to ensure FoRTP's mission and activities are well-communicated.

Collaboration: Work closely with the FoRTP board, volunteers, and community partners to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience in marketing, communications, or fundraising (nonprofit experience a plus).

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills for social media, newsletters, and donor communications.

Familiarity with social media management, email marketing platforms, and basic website editing.

Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.

Passion for parks, community engagement, and environmental preservation.
Compensation & Hours

Part-time, flexible hours (estimated 10–15 hours per month).
